Size:4pc The size of one spike is 7” long and the weight for one spike is 3.52 oz. The spikes are made from terracotta and water is absorbed through the terracotta and then the soil absorbs the water. The watering spike is made from terracotta clay with an even density to ensure the slow release of water. If any of the watering spikes are broken when they arrive please contact us for a refund or replacement. HOW TO USE THE WATERING SPIKES Submerge the watering spikes in water and soak for approx. 1 hour before use. Dig a hole in the soil large enough for the watering spike. Carefully fill the spike with water and insert into the soil in the hole you made. Insert the spike into the soil and make sure the top of the spike above the soil line to avoid soil getting into the actual spike. The releasing speed of the water depends on the plant, pot size and weather conditions. Insert stakes deeper into the soil to ensure more water is realised. For larger pots, you may need more than one stake to water the plants. Make sure the maximum amount of the watering spike is touching soil.. WATERING SPIKES PRECAUTIONS The terracotta spikes are fragile so please handle with care and when inserting into soil, do not force the spike into the soil, dig a small hole first. We recommend testing the release speed of the water from the spike before you go on vacation.
