Our most popular furniture leg, the Round Tapers feature a pre-installed 5/16″ #18 hanger bolt for quick mount installation, as well as a self-leveling ferrule to keep sturdy on uneven surfaces.

What do I need to install these table legs?

WADDELL quick mount legs are ideally attached using our top mounting plates (see below for more details). We do not recommend screwing them directly into the furniture rather than into the plate, as they will not be properly supported.

What kind of furniture can I make or refurbish with these legs?

Our furniture legs are perfect for any decorative tables or stools, such as a coffee table, end table, ottoman, console table, and many more. They are perfect for all kinds of DIY home decor, so feel free to get creative with them!

How much weight do they support?

Each leg, when properly installed with a top plate, has a weight capacity of approximately 8–10 lbs., totaling 32–40 lbs. for the entire furniture piece once mounted.

What size is the pre-installed hanger bolt?

The hanger bolt has a 5/16″ diameter with a #18 thread and is 1½” long. It protrudes about ¼”–½” from the top of the leg, which is the length necessary to screw tightly into the top plate.

Do I have to paint or stain them?

You can absolutely finish these legs however you wish, even if that means applying no finish at all. (That is what’s so great about DIY—whether the D stands for Do or Don’t is up to you!) However, if you do add a finish, do so prior to mounting.

Installing WADDELL quick mount legs is as easy as 1-2-3: Step 1. Measure and plan leg placement.

Using a ruler or tape measure, mark the position for each leg on the table top by placing the plate you’ll use and marking the screw holes.

For maximum stability, it is best for the legs to be as close to the edge as possible. We like to place the legs about 2 inches from the table’s edge.

Don’t forget to make sure that the plates are all the same distance from the edge!

Step 2. Attach mounting plates to table top.

Place each plate over the marks you made earlier.

If the table top is made of a softer wood such as pine, you can simply drill the included screws directly into the table top through the plate’s mounting holes.

However, if it is made of a hardwood such as maple or oak, it is best to first drill pilot holes in order to avoid splitting the table top.

Step 3. Screw on table legs.

Finally, line up the bolt on your table leg with the hole in the center of the mounting plate, and screw each table leg into place.

Step 4. (Just kidding—there is no step 4.) You’re done!

Great job! All you have to do now is give yourself a high five or pat on the back (up to you). Enjoy your new table and have fun deciding how to decorate it.

Use any WADDELL top plates to mount your table legs: Straight Top Plate

This top plate provides a solid base to fasten the table leg or bun foot into and allows the leg or foot to hang straight from the furniture to the floor.

Heavy Duty Top Plate

Similar to the straight top plate, this top plate provides an even wider base to fasten the table leg or bun foot into and allows the leg or foot to hang straight from the furniture to the floor.

Angle Top Plate

This top plate provides a solid base to fasten a table leg or bun foot into and allows the leg or foot to hang at a 78° angle from the furniture to the floor.

All of our top mounting plates are constructed with 18 gauge steel and include ⅝” mounting screws. The center is fused with a compatible nut for the table leg’s hanger bolt.
