Build up Your Skills
Improving your writing skills will allow your creative work to resonate in your readers’ minds. Pick the structure that suits your story and follow the best methods.
Examples of different Arcs and Structures for your new characters

The Three Act Structure
The three-act structure is based on the basic idea that it divides the entire story into three parts: beginning, middle, and end.
Act 1: Set-up
This act is further divided into three parts: the exposition, where we are introduced to the world of the story; the inciting incident; and the first plot point.
Act 2: Confrontation
The first part of this act comprises the rising action, where we are familiarised with the new world of the protagonist, who also finds new friends and enemies at this point.
Then comes the midpoint, which adds a twist to the protagonist’s mission.
The last part of the act brings the second plot point, wherein the protagonist fails.
Act 3: Resolution
The third act begins with a pre-climax, which is the darkest time for the protagonist. It is at this point that they must be strong and choose to act.
The pre-climax is followed by the climax, where the protagonist is faced with the antagonist one last time.

Save the Cat Beat Sheet
The Save the Cat! beat sheet template was created by the famous screenwriter Blake Snyder. This structure is quite popular across different media platforms. It contains fifteen touchpoints: Opening Image—an introduction that sucks your readers into the story.
Set-up—the readers are familiarised with the ordinary world of the protagonist.
Theme Stated—what the story is truly about.
Catalyst—presents the inciting incident.Debate—the protagonist receives a call to adventure
Break into Two- the conscious choice of the protagonist
B Story—Love story subplot
Fun and Games—is the most entertaining part of the entire story. Midpoint—brings an unexpected plot twist
Bad Guys Close In
All Is Lost-the protagonist hits rock bottom. Dark Night of the Soul—the protagonist is shattered and hopeless.Break into Three—re-invigorated by their newfound hope.Finale—the confrontation between the protagonist and the antagonist takes place finally.Final Image—the knowledge of truth brings.

Dan Harmon Story Circle
Dan Harmon, the co-creator of the TV series Rick and Morty, has created a new story structure, also drawing inspiration from Campbell’s monomyth structure. This structure has been used in several episodes of Rick and Morty. This circle is divided into eight parts:
A character is in their comfort zone—the status quo is established here.
But they want something—the inciting incident is introduced here.
They enter an unfamiliar situation—the character realizes that they must do something new in order to achieve what they want.
They adapt to it—they face several struggles and challenges and eventually begin to succeed.
And get what they want—this is generally a false victory.
They pay a hefty toll for it—here, the protagonist realizes that what they wanted wasn’t what they truly needed.
And return to their comfort zone—having learned this truth, they decide that it’s time to head back. Having changed—this change could either be for better or worse.

The Hero’s Journey
The hero’s journey as its name suggests, follows the structure of an adventurous journey of a protagonist, often on a quest for an object or destination. Vogler has divided this structure into the following twelve steps:
The Ordinary World—gives an insight into the normal life of the hero. The Call of Adventure—presents the inciting incident.
Refusal of the Call—shows how the hero is reluctant to take on such an adventure. Meeting the Mentor—hero meets an authoritative figure. Crossing the First Threshold—signifies the hero’s first step into a new world.
Tests, Allies, Enemies—the hero is surrounded by challenges.
Cave—the hero achieves something remarkable.
The Ordeal—they come face-to-face with the biggest challenge. Reward—marks the attainment of a remarkable prize.
The Road Back—the hero realizes that the reward was perhaps a wrong choice.
Resurrection—brings forth a climactic test of everything that has been learned so far. Return with the Elixir—marks the hero’s final victory.
